Guest: Wicked Skills
I want to say that you are my hero and role model. You are the reason I am such an avid cycling fan. I never really had someone to cheer for as I began watching the 08 tour. Then I saw VDV and liked the Garmin colors. At the time I was half oblivious to the Tour, but on the Prato Nevoso (I think or maybe the Cuneo - Jausier stage I saw what looked like a canadian on the screen. Yes it was you.
And you were helping VDV on the hard climbs. From then on I knew you where my favourite. But as I began watching cycling more frequently I saw another side of you not just the athlete but the character behind the mask. I never really thought that we would have such a great rider in cycling until I started watching lots. I knew you had something special, from that stage you helped VDV to the line when he had a bad day to now, just before the 2010 Vuelta. You have made my passion for cycling greater, my hope that one day a canuck will win the tour even more possible (maybe even you) and the style in which you ride has made for very exciting races, stages and Tours.
Its kinda funny when Phil and Paul talk about you being a taller rider and still having such great climbing legs, but they obviously don't realize that some day Canadians will take over and dominate every sport, and that you are a special rider.
Cheers and good luck for the rest of the '10 season and upcoming '11 season where monte paschi eroica could be yours and a Grand Tour top 5.
Obviously not your biggest fan cause I'm only 128 lbs but I'll be cheering for you in every race you enter.

Guest: Hesjedal
Hi Ryder,
My name is Randi Hesjedal and I'm writing you out of pure curiosity. My father Eiliv Hesjedal (80) is from Dalekvam, Norway, and went to primary school with Reidar Hesjedal. My father wonders if you are related to Reidar?
And if not so, could you please tell my the names of your ancestors that emigrated to America?
Regards
Randi Hesjedal

Hi there-I was wondering when Ryder might be home for a public visit? My son followed Ryder's progress all this year and is a huge fan. I remember after the TDF last year, Ryder came home for a bit.

Joey Wilson: Hello
I am 10 years old and I just recently got a road bike and I was wondering where you got started in cycling here on Vancouver Island. I live in Langford, BC Canada. I wish I could come to Maui and join your camp, but I am too young and I don't have a summer job!
I congratulate you on your finish in the Tour de France.

Bill Parry: Continued Success
I was fortunate to be in France to watch 5 stages live of this years tour. I cycled from Amsterdam to Gap on my bike. It was great to see you do so well . You made all Canadians proud and especially those there on the sidelines with banners and flags. Your accomplishments so far have had a major impact on cycling in Canada. Keep up the great work Ryder
Like to get one of those Ryder T shirts if they still have them.

André Navjord: Relatives from Norway
Hello!
At first i will congratulate with the fantastiv effort in the Tour de France!
I live in a small valley in Norway, Beiarn. In Norwegian Wikipedia, it is written that your great-grand-parents were Norwegian immigrants to Canada. Yesterday my grandmother talked to a woman who has moved out from Beiarn that a famous bicycle rider from Canada had relatives in Beiarn.
Of course, i got very interested in this case, and i wonder if you know where in Norway your immigrated great-grand-parents were from, and maybe what the maiden name of your great grand mother?
I am a big fan of you, and it would be awesome to be able to brag to my bike interested friends that you have relatives from the same valley as me!
Go Ryder!
André

Also, congrats on San Sebastion!!! You are making our city and Canada proud!
I wish I could be up there with you on the bike! Even if I had a 1/4 of your talent, I'd be happy!
Keep riding strong, and, hopefully, you can be the team leader next year! If Jonathon doesn't make you the leader next year, he would be crazy!!

stef moreau: hey
Hey Ryder,
My name is Stef, the french Canadian who's always at the Trek pro city shop. I want to congradulate you for your achievment. Without knowing it you were a great inspiration for me. As you probably notice at the bike shop I develope a serious addiction to alcohol to a point to try to kill myself a few time and I will loose my job with the navy. I stopped drinking a month prior to the tour and I was really struggling but watching your perfomance at the tour made me feel better and inspired me. I know have been sober since that time and I will be going to a treatment center in few weeks. I will bring the water bottle you gave me as a inspiration. Don't worrie im not a groopie or stocker I just use what inspire me to help me out throught rough time! Also I was wondering if you know if the team will sell some frameset at the end of the year?
thanks again Ryder and keep rocking
Stef

Viviana, Vancouver, Canad...: congrats on 7th place finish
Congratulations on a remarkable finish in the Tour De France! I was upset when Thor Hushovd overtook you on that Stage that was yours until the end. What an excellent job! You've done Canada (and BC) proud and you've put Canada back in the bicycle race!
May your good luck continue for all future races! Wish they'd show more of them on TV.
