Wheelmen Ride Bicycles is an initiative with a mission to help support the development of young male and female competitive cyclists in Canada. $5 from every purchase you make in store or at Wheelmen.ca will go directly to the young athletes, providing opportunities to excel in sport and inspire healthy lifestyles for all Canadians. “Wheelmen Ride Bicycles” was inspired by Canadian Olympian and Tour de France veteran, Ryder Hesjedal. Inspiration to work harder, to support others – and not to underestimate what can be achieved through life’s simple practices. “Having the opportunity to give back and support young athletes so that they have the same opportunities I had is important to me. Wheelmen’s mission to give $5 of every shirt sale directly to supporting our young athletes is something I can wholeheartedly get behind and support. Every little bit helps, and now everyone can have the opportunity to chip in a little bit themselves. I’m proof that the support given today leads to success tomorrow.” www.wheelmen.ca |
Tour De France Canadian, Ryder Hesjedal offers his support for Power To Be. Cycling dynamo Ryder Hesjedal, made headlines all over the world this summer, finishing 7th in the Tour De France. The 29 year old Victoria native, currently ranked 8th in the world, has chosen Power To Be as his local charity to support in 2011. "This is great news for our charity and rides on the coat tails of our strategic plan to reach out to more vulnerable youth in need of our services. Ryder will be a great asset for this endeavour," says Tim Cormod , the Executive Director and recent Finalist for the 2010 Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Most recently, Ryder donated a private cycling tour during his upcoming Maui Cycling Camp raising close to $10,000 for Power To Be. In many ways Power To Be is the perfect fit for Hesjedal, who grew up mountain biking, cycling and playing outdoors in and around the Victoria area. www.powertobe.ca |
